SpaSpy: Face Spa @ Reflections Eco-Holistic Holdings, Kiulap
Some time after my manipedi treat at Nail Artz yesterday, I headed over to Reflections for my stonespa appointment which a friend of mine booked. I’ve already written a review on their bodyspa, so if you’re curious about this place (which I absolutely recommend by the way), you can read about it by clicking here.
So anyway… My friend and I decided to top up our stonespa appointment with an additional $10 for their face spa (that’s the price for first-timers - it’ll be an extra $20 per session for continuing users), which I, surprisingly, hadn’t tried out even though I had come to the spa so many times. Reflections’ face spa is basically everything included in their stone spa (the drinking of two flasks of deionised water, 30-40 minutes stone-sauna, and resting period) PLUS the chance to use their special mask for 10 minutes towards the end of the spa.
The first thing you need to know before going for their Face spa is that you should remove ALL traces of makeup on your face beforehand. If possible, come to the salon without any traces of cosmetics on your face. Perhaps wearing shades is the best idea if you’re not keen on leaving home without makeup on.
So, like I said, the face spa follows the usual procedures, except; after turning over and lying on my back for 10 minutes, a rubbery mask is placed over my face - for 10 minutes. And boy did that make my face sweat like crazy. And I thought the heat last Saturday was bad.
After the spa, my complexion became very rosy and I could see that it was very easy to remove the (remaining) blackheads (that were still) on my face (even after a night of blackhead removing ritual). I’m going to straightaway say that the Face Spa works - although I’m not sure if I want to continue doing so because I wasn’t a fan of putting the mask over my face as it felt slightly suffocating.
My overall rating for it? A 7.5.
